Republicans say Obama is a Commie and Wall Street Insider

Republicans just can't seem to get their lies straight. First Obama is a radical Marxist, the next minute he is a Wall Street stooge. However for Progressives, the latter argument actually rings more true, but Romney would be worse not better in this respect.
"Failed investment strategies. Jobs eliminated. Millions lost," the spot says. "Public Equity President Obama played Wall Street games with our money."

To claim using the same D.O.E. loan program that Regressive Republicans have used for decades to funnel money to their buddies in the oil business for a Solar Energy company is equivalent with Wall Street's criminal practices is laughable. For Regressive Republicans, lying comes first and facts are a distant fourth.

Solyndra's problems had everything to do with China and nothing to do with the ridiculous notion that 'Solar doesn't work, but oil does'. In fact the entire American Solar Panel Industry is on the verge of collapse not because it is a bad idea, but because the Chinese Government is heavily subsidizing their Solar Panel Industry. Despite these setbacks the U.S. Solar Industry had over $1.8 billion in net exports last year, mainly in capital tools and PV Silicon. Moreover Solar Energy is rapidly gaining popularity as PV Panel prices have declined dramatically in the last 3 years.

The 'American Crossroads' attack ad is just another classic case of 'false equivalence'. False equivalence is a logical fallacy which describes a situation where there is a logical and apparent equivalence, but when in fact there is none. Example: "They are both soft, cuddly pets, there's no difference between a cat and a dog."

Bottom Line

This attack ad is yet but one in a near endless line of illogical and contradictory attacks. 'Obama's Rev Wright is a Black Nationalist' no 'Obama is actually a secret Muslim' no 'Obama is actually an Atheist who has declared war on religion'. For some reason the fact that these positions are mirror opposites never seem to dawn on the rubes that buy into them. It is like calling Obama a 'square circle' no make that a 'rectangular triangle'.
