Academic Freedom or Backdoor for Creationism in Public Schools?

In this video from the Free Thought Convention in Texas, NCSE board member Barbara Forrest digs into the  popular Regressive Republican tactic of trying to pass state laws that laughably support "academic freedom". Professor Forrest destroys the myths and exposes the real agenda behind these laws that let teachers and students debate "both sides" of settled science.

The Regressive Republicans know if you asked the average person 'Should we give students all the information and tell them both sides of the story', most would say yes. However if you asked them if we should teach both sides of math, 'that 1 + 1 = 2 and 1 + 1 = 11' most would think you were being silly. This is however exactly what the Regressive Republicans are trying to do all across America except with subjects like evolution, global warming and all the science that backs it up.

Some things just don't have a 'both sides'. Is there another side to a circle being round? Is there another side to water [H2O] being made of 2 parts Hydrogen and 1 part Oxygen? Is there another side to fire being hot? No there isn't, and there is another credible side to evolution. If there was it would be science, not religion putting out there for peer review.
