Marco Rubio's Free Market Fail on Climate Change

Marco 'I hate science' Rubio

When we point out that no matter how many job-killing laws we pass, our government can’t control the weather — he accuses us of wanting dirty water and dirty air. ~ Marco Rubio's response to President Obama saying climate change is real in his 2013 State of the Union speech.

Hmmm, that's an interesting idea. Lets look back in American history and see how it worked before big old bad Mr. Job killing Government started giving people orders about pollution control. Below is a photo of the front page of the Saint Louis Post Dispatch showing the city before their smoke ordinance in 1939 and after in 1940.

Saint Louis Winning the Fight on Smoke" from the February 2, 1941 issue of the Saint Louis Post Dispatch shows the city before their smoke ordinance in 1939 and after in 1940. The article has a sticker showing ownership of the paper by the Civic Club of Allegheny County in the Hotel William Penn in Pittsburgh, Pa. The remarkable success of the Saint Louis smoke control program made a strong impression on Pittsburgh, a city confronted with similar air pollution problems.
Before and After pollution controls.

Wow your right Marco, that free market really did wonders.... in destroying the environment that is. Nobody wants to live under an oppressive Orwellian style government. We don't need big brother reading all our emails, listening to our phone calls, monitoring where we go and who we meet with, but there are some big issues only government can deal with. The average person doesn't have the resources to fight things like pollution and climate change, but the government does. The above picture shows the difference between Rubio's free market and what a regulated environment look like. In fact you can see the same thing today in China. Despite being a communist dictatorship, there is little to no pollution controls in China like we have in America, Western Europe, and Japan.
